Personal Statement

When I was a child my mom worked as an ICU nurse and watching her, I always knew I wanted to do something medical. Serving our community, a community that gave so much to me, like her was an inspiration. After I decided on becoming a doctor, it was an easy choice to become a pediatrician. Children are so resilient. They are fun and innocent. There is never a dull moment when working with kids. I love the challenge of finding a creative way to connect with a shy child or how to make a nervous child comfortable. I love caring for the whole family and partnering with parents to provide the best care for their family and child. I have been able to use my experience as a mom to provide advice, examples, and empathy. I grew up in small town Nebraska and am very excited to give back to the community that has given so much to me over the years!
