Pregnancy Ailments and Medications

Morning Sickness

  • Eat 3 small meals and 3 snacks per day
  • Eat slowly and chew thoroughly
  • Drink plenty of fluids. For persistent nausea, drinking fluids between meals may help ease symptoms.
  • Avoid strong odor and hot, stuffy rooms. Use a fan to circulate air.
  • Limit foods that cause gas.
  • Limit foods that are high in fat, which may be more difficult to digest.
  • Eat crackers or dry toast in the morning before getting out of bed.
  • Consume fluids and solids separately.
  • Vitamin B6 50 mg – 1 in the morning, 1 at lunch, 1 at before bed
  • Eat high complex carbs before bed.
  • Sea bands – acupressure
  • Unisom 25 mg – ½ tab in the morning, ½ tab at lunch, 1 tab before bed

Contact your doctor or medical professional if you are unable to keep liquids down for more than 24 hours, feel weak/dizzy, or are dehydrated.

Pain

Discuss all pain medications with your doctor or medical professional.

Rash

  • Benadryl
  • 1% hydrocortisone cream

Sleep Aids

  • Benadryl
  • Chamomile Tea
  • Unisom
  • Warm milk – add vanilla or sugar for taste

Sugar Substitutes

Tooth Pain
